Tim-Julian Schwehn, M.Sc.
CV
After training as a bank clerk, Tim studied Business Education and Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim from 2018 – 2021. He then transferred to FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he continued both subjects in the Master’s program and successfully completed his studies in summer 2023. He completed both courses with distinction, for which he was awarded the Barbara Hopf Prize of the University of Mannheim, among others. During his studies, he gained practical experience in IT consulting, credit institutions, HR departments and numerous teaching positions. He already worked at our chair during his master’s degree, first as a research assistant and since August 2023 as a doctoral student. Tim is an alumnus of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, to which he belonged as a scholarship holder from 2019 to 2023.
Tim’s doctoral research focuses on interaction and collaboration processes between humans and artificial intelligence. The development and introduction of AI-based applications and systems in business, society and the world of work is taking place at a rapid pace. In this context, Tim is investigating the influence of AI on people’s understanding of their role and identity, in particular their personal self-perception. His research project – like his background as a student – is characterized by a strong interdisciplinary character. He combines perspectives and methods from the social sciences/psychology and business informatics in order to generate a holistic understanding of the human-AI collaboration process and to shape the AI transformation in our society in a sustainable way.
Tim is significantly involved in teaching activities at our chair. He supervises and teaches the module Data Science: Data Management and Analysis (DMA) as well as the module Enterprise Content and Collaboration Management (ECCM) – subjects that are attended by more than 1000 students per semester. In his free time, he enjoys a wide variety of sports and is a volunteer in the Evangelical Church.
