Digital transformation of organized sports
Overview
In our research, we address the impact of digitization on organized and especially amateur sports. Our focus is on investigating how digital technologies and methods can be used to shape amateur sports operations in the long term and sustainably, while improving participation and the sports experience.
One focus of our research is on the application of digital technologies to make processes in amateur sports operations more efficient and transparent. For example, we are investigating the possibilities of digital platforms and tools for organizing sports events, sports clubs or sports associations. These can be used in training and further education, for example.
Another focus is on analyzing the impact of digital technologies on the sports community and spectator participation, particularly with regard to interaction between athletes and fans or the possibilities of digital communication and collaboration within sports clubs and sports associations.
Overall, we are working to understand the digital transformation in amateur sports and the impact of these developments on organization, participation, and the sports experience. Our goal is to contribute to the creation of a sustainable and innovative amateur sports landscape, thereby promoting participation and engagement in sports.
