Information Systems for Sustainable Development (IS4SD)
Content
Welcome to the research seminar “Information Systems for Sustainable Development (IS4SD)”, a Master level course. The seminar provides an introduction to the field of sustainable development and considers the crucial role that information systems play in it. After a comprehensive introduction to the basics of sustainable development, participants use their newly acquired knowledge to analyze multiple ways in which information systems can contribute to addressing sustainable challenges. This is recorded in the form of a presentation and a written seminar paper. The seminar follows the scientific methodology of design-oriented research.
Within the seminar, the methodology Objectives and Key Results (OKR) from project management will be acquired. This helps to develop the participants’ skills in planning, implementing and evaluating information system projects with sustainability objectives. Students are encouraged to practically apply the acquired knowledge in real sustainability projects to achieve a tangible impact on society and the environment.
